Development of Immunoreagents and Biosensors for the Analysis of Chemical Tracers in Oil Deposits (RTC-2017-6222-5-AR)

This project will be developed by the Spanish Company of Petroleum (CEPSA) through its Research Center, the Immunotechnology Group of the Center for Research and Innovation in Bioengineering (Ci2B) of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) and the Nanobiosensors and Bioanalytical Applications Group (NanoB2A) of the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2).

The following activities will be carried out In the project: selection of tracers, synthesis of haptens and production of specific monoclonal antibodies to react with the chosen target tracers,  and development of selective and sensitive sensors at the trace level through the incorporation of hapten conjugates into microelectronic devices. Once developed, sensors will be validated using synthetic water samples and real field samples with trace-level target content.

This project will allow a new and advantageous device that could be marketed for the analysis of tracers in the oil industry and that could also be used in other industrial applications.

This project is part of the Society’s Challenge «(R5) Action on climate change and efficiency in the use of resources and raw materials» of the call. Within this Challenge would be framed in the thematic priority «II. Efficiency in the use of resources and raw materials
