The general objective is the application of engineering resources, particularly electronics, to the development of solutions in the field of neurosciences, especially in the fields of diagnosis, therapy and substitution.

The research at the center focuses on two areas: one is the improvement -or new development- of diagnostic tools of neurosurgical interest; a second line focuses on improving the therapeutic capacity of deep brain electrical stimulation (DBS), through the improvement in the location of the targets, the location of the electrodes, the planning and evaluation of the stimulation, and of the improvement of electric excitation strategies.
